Julian is a highly experienced intelligence operative and dedicated Africanist with some twenty years’ hands-on engagement on the continent. He founded Africa Integrity Services Ltd in 2010, believing that high quality, privileged-source intelligence is an effective tool to support high standards of corporate ethics, behavioural integrity; and help to protect people, property and assets, operational integrity. Julian started his professional life as a City economist before becoming a diplomat in Africa in the mid-1990s in a role focused on security and intelligence matters. After leaving government service, Julian was Head of Security Intelligence for HSBC, then Head of Africa for a global private security company.
He brings twenty years of direct experience in Africa to bear in addressing a variety of client requirements on intelligence, security and risk matters. Julian has an MA in Philosophy and Economics from the University of Oxford and a Diploma from the Securities Institute. In addition, Julian is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and is a Deployable Civilian Expert for Britain’s Stabilisation Unit.
